FC Augsburg – as reported by Get German Football News yesterday – are on the verge of signing striker Rodrigo Ribeiro from Sporting CP today. Kicker reports that 20-year-old will join the Bundesliga outfit on loan with a €5m purchase option. Ribeiro hasn’t scored for the Portuguese clubs senior team and also failed to establish himself during a loan to Nottingham Forest, yet is still considered a player with great potential for development.

Augsburg have not yet played their Bundesliga fixture during this week’s rare “Englischer Woche”. Manuel Baum’s Fuggerstädter find themselves threatened with relegation and did not start 2026 very promisingly with a 4-0 away loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Ahead of today’s Bundesliga fixture against Union Berlin, the Bavarian Swabians confirmed two loan transactions yesterday.

Aiman Dardari receives Fürth loan out

The young Luxembourg international – the surprise recipient of a professional contract this past autumn – will spend the duration of the season on loan with Greuther Fürth. The 20-year-old’s loan arrangement does not include a purchase option. Dardai made three Bundesliga appearances since inking his new FCA deal in early August.

Aiman has developed very positively at FCA in recent months,Augsburg sporting director Benni Weber noted in a club statement. “His convincing performances in the U23s, his contract extension in the summer, and his growing role in the Luxembourg national team underscore this. The loan to SpVgg Greuther Fürth is the next logical step, allowing him to gain continuous playing experience at a high level in the 2. Bundesliga.

I’m very happy that the loan was finalized before the start of the second half of the season,” the player himself added. “It’s great that it’s starting right away and that I can help. I know that young players get their chances here. I want to take advantage of that now and give it my all so that we can get off to the best possible start in the new year.

Augsburg finalize Elias Saad’s Hannover loan

The reported-on loan of Tunisian international Elias Saad to 2. Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 has also been completed. As noted in Get German Football News‘ previous piece on Saad, this loan too does not contain a purchase option. The former St. Pauli professional will only work in Lower Saxony for six short months.

Elias has the profile we were looking for to further expand our options in the final third,” newly installed H96 managing director Jörg Schmadtke noted in a club statement. “He certainly has a special quality in one-on-one situations, is a very agile player and also finds good solutions in tight spaces.”

Hannover 96 plays a style of football that I can totally see myself in,” Saad noted in his own brief statement. “The style-of-play suits what I’m all about.
