According to L'Équipe, the Coupe de France final is set for the weekend of 22 May, but the FFF has yet to decide between Friday and Saturday or to choose between the Stade de France and a provincial venue. OL's quarter-final exit removes a potential headache.

Works linked to the Grand Paris project mean the match cannot be held at the Stade de France on Saturday 23 May. RER lines B and D, used by fans to reach Saint-Denis, are due to be closed and the authorities will not move that shutdown.

Two main options remain. The final could be brought forward to Friday 22 May to stay at the Stade de France, or it could be kept on 23 May and moved to the provinces.

That Friday switch would not have been feasible had OL still been involved and potentially tied to the Europa League final on Wednesday 20 May.

Their home defeat by Lens in the quarter-finals clears that calendar risk for the FFF.
