Michael Olise’s future remains one of the dominant topics at FC Bayern. Although the Munich club continues to categorically rule out selling its star forward, behind the scenes, plans are apparently already being considered in the event of a future departure. One name is particularly in the spotlight: Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain.
Michael Olise is under contract with the record champions through 2029 and is expected to become the face of Bayern’s offense in the long term. As has been reported several times recently, club officials are working on an early contract extension that could elevate the Frenchman to one of the club’s top earners.
Nevertheless, the Munich club is apparently already exploring possible alternatives. This comes amid ongoing speculation about interest from Real Madrid. While Bayern has so far taken a firm stance against a sale, should Olise fail to extend his contract long-term, a transfer could become a serious possibility by 2027 at the latest.
According to information from BILD’s soccer editor Christian Falk, FC Bayern is closely monitoring Bradley Barcola’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain. On the “Bayern-Insider” podcast, Falk explained that a transfer would only be realistic under certain conditions, however.
“A few ifs and buts: If Olise doesn’t extend his contract and Barcola is still on the market next summer, then he’ll only have one year left on his contract. Then, of course, the transfer fee will go down accordingly. Bayern could pocket a lot of money for Olise, and then this move would be feasible,” said Falk.
Barcola has long been regarded as a player the Munich club values. Currently, however, a transfer seems to be falling through primarily due to financial constraints.

Another factor could be Barcola’s contract situation. As Falk reports, talks about a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain are currently on hold. Although the French champions would like to extend the 23-year-old’s contract—which runs through 2028—the attacking player reportedly wants to wait and see how his career develops first.
FC Bayern faces competition from the Premier League in this regard. According to reports, Liverpool and Arsenal, among others, are closely monitoring the situation. However, PSG is reportedly demanding around 150 million euros for a sale—a sum that has so far deterred even financially strong English clubs.
Added to this is the fact that Barcola is facing increasing competition in Paris and regularly has to share his spot in the starting lineup with Désiré Doué. This situation could further influence his plans for the future.
From Bayern’s perspective, this scenario remains a distant possibility for now. As long as Olise fulfills his contract and the record champions are working on an extension, there is no immediate need for action. Should the French international’s situation change, however, Bradley Barcola could quickly become a concrete option.
