Olivier Pantaloni 'to leave' Lorient at end of season

Lorient head coach Olivier Pantaloni will leave at the end of the season, choosing not to extend his contract.

"Today, after two years of work at Lorient, I have tried to show who I am and what I can do, I still feel there is this mistrust, and from there I refuse to work in those conditions," he told Ouest-France.

The 59-year-old took charge in 2024, delivered promotion, and has overseen a strong second campaign with survival secured early. Lorient are ninth in Ligue 1.

Pantaloni held several meetings with club leaders but no agreement was reached. "I have had discussions with people who may not be here next year, it is a bit strange."

His departure had been anticipated before this confirmation.
