Onyedika set to join Eintracht Frankfurt despite late hijack efforts from Saudi clubs | OneFootball

Sky Sport and Fabrizio Romano report Raphael Onyedika is edging closer to joining Eintracht Frankfurt from Club Brugge. According to Sky’s Florian Plettenberg, there were calls from Saudi Arabian clubs today, but all that’s left for the Bundesliga club is the final details to officially complete the transfer.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Club Brugge have been discussing the transfer for weeks now, with a €10 million fee finally sealing the deal for Adi Hütter’s side. Onyedika only has a contract until 2027 with the Belgian champions.

In addition to Sky’s update, renowned transfer journalist Romano also reported full agreement has been reached for the move despite bids from Saudi Arabia. Frankfurt have already signed another central midfielder this summer with the signing of Noel Aseko from FC Bayern Munich.

Onyedika was absent from Club Brugge’s squad as they lost on penalties to Union SG in the Belgian Super Cup on Friday night. Meanwhile, Germany U21 international Nicolo Tresoldi scored for Club Brugge as they missed out on winning the Super Cup in back-to-back seasons.
