Leeds United can move nine points clear of the drop with victory over bottom-placed Wolves on Saturday, and a new Opta supercomputer projection delivers a strong Whites verdict in its predicted final Premier League table.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke’s side sit six points above third-bottom Tottenham after Monday’s 2-1 win at Manchester United, and the gap could grow further before the weekend is out.
Spurs, still searching for a first league win of 2026, host Roberto De Zerbi’s former club Brighton at 5.30pm. West Ham, fourth-bottom and four behind Leeds, visit Crystal Palace on Monday. Nottingham Forest, fifth-bottom and three back, host second-bottom Burnley on Sunday.
Leeds will still have five games to play after Wolves, including away trips to both Tottenham and West Ham. Saturday’s 3pm kick-off presents a major chance to take control of their survival fight.
Opta’s latest projection has Arsenal champions on 82 points, five clear of Manchester City on 77. Aston Villa are third on 65, up from fourth, with Manchester United fourth on 64. Liverpool are fifth on 61 and Chelsea sixth on 57.
