MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers concluded with the two final Group A matches on Thursday.

The last day of the tournament saw Mexico win Group A to secure its qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.

Group A

Saint Martin 0-6 Barbados 

Barbados earned a 6-nil victory against Saint Martin in Group A at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago

Barbados took the lead in the 11’ through an own goal from Saint Martin.

The Tridents added two more in a span of nine minutes to go into the half leading 3-nil. Jacob Gollop converted penalty in the 17’, followed by a long-range banger from Reuben Garnes-Alleyne in the 26’.

Gollop further extended the lead for Barbados in the 70’, sliding the ball into the back of the net to capitalize on a line-splitting pass from Amari Small on a fast break. 

Two second-half substitutes rounded out the result for Barbados. Small scored at the bottom-right corner with an effort from the center of the box in the 84’, assisted by Jamarco Johnson, before Johnson added a goal himself from long-range in the 87’.

The match was in a stalemate until the final minutes. Mexico got the lead in the 82’, with Adán Sánchez playing a fantastic pass to Jesús Orduño, who struck into the bottom-left corner. 

Sánchez headed home a cross in the 86’ to double the advantage for El Tricolor.

The result sealed the top spot in Group A for Mexico and secured a ninth consecutive appearance for the North American nation at a FIFA U-17 World Cup.
