Oscar Perea has joined Club América on loan with an option to buy, moving from Strasbourg to a club in Mexico’s top flight after a disappointing year in Portugal.

According to L'Équipe, the 20-year-old Colombia Under-23 winger will compete with Brian Rodriguez at the Mexican top-flight side.

Strasbourg signed Perea two years ago for €3.5m plus €1m in bonuses, yet he has played only 12 minutes in Ligue 1.

After a disappointing loan at AVS in Portugal last season, he was not included in RCSA’s pre-season training camp this week.

Under contract until 2029, Perea is among a wider group Strasbourg want to move on, alongside Abakar Sylla, Saïdou Sow and Junior Mwanga.
