Oskar Pietuszewski is now estimated at 20 million euros, twice what he cost FC Porto, after the 17-year-old’s rise that included a viral solo goal at Estádio da Luz while covering for Samu.

He will miss Thursday’s trip to Stuttgart because he is not registered for Europe, a decision by Farioli who, limited to three changes, chose Fofana to bring extra balance in midfield. Even so, the Italian has backed the winger, starting him in the last four league matches.

Across eight Porto outings, he won a penalty on debut against Vitória de Guimarães that led to the opponents finishing with 10 men, then supplied an assist versus Rio Ave. He scored at Arouca in late February, before that eye-catching strike at the Luz that made him Porto’s youngest scorer against Benfica, breaking a near 100-year record.

His potential sale value is now put at 20 million euros, double the 8 million fee plus 2 million in add-ons due to Jagiellonia. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City had already monitored him, interest has surged, but Porto are relaxed with a 60 million euro release clause and little inclination to entertain summer bids.

“Playing like this, sooner or later he will reach the national team, without doubt,” said Poland coach Jan Urban. He told Antena Um. “I think he can become a major figure in Polish football, but it depends on the player, he has to seize his chances. From what I have seen he has his head in the right place, and it is important he takes his steps in Porto’s first team calmly.”
