England's Under-21 side beat Germany to win the European Championships on Saturday night, and on this day four years ago, the senior team won in similarly thrilling fashion against their storied rivals.
In one of the first games with a partially full crowd following the pandemic, the Three Lions had Wembley rocking with a 2-0 win, with the goals coming from Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling.
It was not just a football win, but a moment of release after 18 months of lockdown. In a sense, football did come home that day.
The Three Lions would eventually lose the final to Italy in a heartbreaking penalty shootout, but the memories of days like this live on.
