Oxford United host Hull City in the Championship on Friday, 3 April 2026 at The Kassam Stadium, with the visitors entrenched in the play-off places and the hosts battling in the relegation zone.

Hull City have edged recent meetings, winning two of the last three against Oxford United, including a 3-2 home victory in August 2025.

Oxford United won three of their last five league games before losing at Southampton. Hull have been inconsistent across the same spell, with defeats to Ipswich Town, Millwall and West Bromwich Albion offset by wins at Wrexham and against Sheffield Wednesday.

Oxford United are without Brian De Keersmaecker and Tyler Goodrham. Hull miss a cluster of players, including Akin Famewo, Regan Slater, Ryan Giles, Eliot Matazo, Matty Jacobs, Darko Gyabi and Yu Hirakawa. Giles has eight league assists this season, so his absence removes a major supply line on the left.

Across the season, Hull average 1.6 goals per game to Oxford United's 0.9, and their open-play crossing has been more accurate at 22.22% from 486 deliveries. With Joe Gelhardt and Oliver McBurnie on 13 league goals apiece, and McBurnie adding seven assists, Hull could look to wide service and their front line. The hosts may try to keep things tight, having conceded 51 league goals.

Oxford United sit 23rd on 39 points. Victory would take them to 42 and could move them closer to safety. Hull are fifth on 66 points. Three more would lift them to 69 and strengthen their grip on the play-offs, with potential to climb depending on other results.
