Palmeiras appoint Rosana Augusto as new women's team coach

Palmeiras announced this Monday (20th) the signing of Rosana Augusto as the new head coach of the women’s professional team. The former player, who ended her career wearing the green and white shirt in 2020, now returns to the club with the mission of leading the Palestrinas into a new era of achievements.

At 43 years old, Rosana is a native of São Paulo (SP) and joins Verdão after managing Flamengo for the past seven months. Even with a recent coaching career, she already has important titles to her name: Copa Rio Feminina (2025), South American U-20 Championship (2024), Brazilian Women’s A2 Championship (2023), and Paranaense Championship (2021).

Returning to Palmeiras, now as a coach, is something very special. I have enormous affection for the club and everything it represents in Brazilian football. Coming back in this new role brings me a feeling of gratitude, responsibility, and pride.

The new manager highlighted that the project presented by the club and the alignment of values were decisive for her decision:

Palmeiras has a solid structure, a winning mentality, and a clear commitment to the development of women’s football. I want a team that plays with intensity, purpose, and takes the lead.

Rosana also left a message for the green and white fans:

The fans can expect a lot of hard work, dedication, and commitment. I want to build a competitive team, with identity and courage. More than results, I want to leave a legacy of culture, values, and continuous evolution.

The debut of the new coach is scheduled for October 31st, at 9:00 PM, against Red Bull Bragantino, at Arena Crefisa Barueri, in the first phase of the Paulista Feminino — precisely against one of her former clubs.
