Palmeiras begin preparations for Ceará clash after win over Atlético-MG

Palmeiras returned to training on the morning of this Friday (05), at the Football Academy, after the 3-0 victory over Atlético-MG, last Wednesday (03), in Belo Horizonte (MG). The green team has already started preparing to face Ceará on Sunday (07), at 4 PM, at Arena Castelão, for the last round of the Brazilian Championship of 2025.

The players who played more than 45 minutes against Galo underwent regenerative activities in the internal areas of the excellence center. On the field, the rest of the squad participated in technical drills led by the coaching staff. Midfielder Emiliano Martínez, who suffered a minor foot injury during the game, began treatment with the Health and Performance Center.

With 73 points and in isolated second place in the competition, the Verdão cannot be overtaken by other teams — a performance praised by goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, one of the signings during the squad overhaul in 2025. He has already played 11 matches wearing the green jersey.

Despite the good season, the goalkeeper acknowledged that the national title slipped away by details:

We know that, we had the ability to have won the title. It leaves a huge pain for us, but now it's about keeping a good mindset, doing things well next year. We have to be very well prepared because we won't have much time for training, to adapt, because the championship starts soon. We have a very tight year in 2026, we have to be as prepared as possible and we know that together we can win and go very far in the competitions.

Palmeiras ends its participation in the Brasileirão against Ceará, aiming to finish the season with another victory and renewed confidence for 2026.
