Palmeiras have dismissed Eduardo Silva, the club’s marketing superintendent for more than a decade, on Friday morning.

According to Nosso Palestra, the change comes as the club seeks a new back-of-shirt sponsor after Fictor’s exit last month, and Leapmotor, a Chinese electric vehicle company newly arrived in Brazil, has recently expressed interest and is assessing financial terms and the club’s requirements.

Leapmotor would not comment on rumours or speculation.

The club is pursuing new sponsors and has been in talks with several companies interested in associating their brands with Palmeiras.

Silva previously worked under Paulo Nobre and Mauricio Galiotte and was viewed as a trusted figure by president Leila Pereira. Following his exit, the department is being handled by statutory director and first vice-president Everaldo Coelho.
