According to Nosso Palestra, Palmeiras will return to Arena Barueri for a Brasileirão fixture in a situation that raises concerns on and off the pitch. The club already has more dates there in 2026 than across 2025, when it hosted three matches.

The switch stems from reinforcement work on the Allianz Parque pitch. Ticket demand has been weak so far, and behind the scenes the expectation is of a reduced crowd, even with the game in the league that usually draws stronger interest.

The warning is financial as much as sporting. Palmeiras have posted negative gate receipts in Barueri, a consequence of lower than expected crowds, higher operating costs and reduced in-stadium spending. The most recent case came in the Campeonato Paulista against Mirassol, when the match closed in the red.

On that day, attendance did not cover outgoings such as stadium rental, security, operations and logistics.

With the team in a patchy run and recent results adding pressure, there is a chance the pattern repeats. The mix of irregular performances and a displaced home venue has put off part of the fanbase, which could again leave large gaps in the stands.
