Palmeiras have revived a move for Zenit defender Nino as they look to reinforce for the 2026 season. The club intend to add four more players after signing Marlon Freitas to meet Abel Ferreira’s requests.

According to Nosso Palestra, club officials met the player’s representatives in the first half of December after an initial enquiry. Zenit signalled an opening price of €12 million, roughly R$76 million at current rates.

Ferreira has identified a need to upgrade the back line and views Nino, formerly of Fluminense and now at Zenit, as his first choice.

Talks are now under way with the Russian side, with Palmeiras working towards an agreement in the coming weeks and seeking reduced terms from the initial figures.

Palmeiras’ centre-back options currently include Gustavo Gómez, Murilo, Bruno Fuchs and Benedetti. Micael, signed at the start of 2025, has been loaned to Inter Miami in the United States.
