Palmeiras rule out Giay with ankle sprain, Felipe Anderson has thigh oedema for Coritiba return | OneFootball

Palmeiras will be without Agustín Giay for Wednesday’s 19:30 Brasília time match against Coritiba as the Brasileiro resumes. The right-back has a sprain in his right ankle.

According to Globo.com, he does not require surgery and is under the care of the Health and Performance unit.

Felipe Anderson has trained in recent days with controlled workload and took to the pitch, but he has oedema in his left thigh and worked under supervision.

Vitor Roque returned to the pitch after surgery on his left ankle, remains in physical transition and did not travel. Cameroonian forward Miguel Bilong was registered on the BID this morning and has been called up.

Also absent are Jefté, injured, Allan and Paulinho, suspended, and Flaco López, on holiday after the World Cup.

A possible XI is Carlos Miguel, Khellven, Gustavo Gómez, Murilo, Arthur (Piquerez), Marlon Freitas, Andreas Pereira, Lucas Evangelista, Arias, Mauricio and Ramón Sosa.

Palmeiras restart top of the table with 41 points from 18 games, seven clear of Flamengo, who have a game in hand.
