Panic at FC Barcelona!
Major setback for FC Barcelona just ahead of the Clasico against Real Madrid. With only two days left before the showdown scheduled for Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu, Raphinha is officially ruled out. The Brazilian winger, who seemed on the verge of making his return to action, felt pain in his right hamstring during Thursday’s training session, forcing him to cut practice short. According to the daily AS, it’s a recurrence of the injury he suffered a month ago, which could sideline him for approximately four more weeks.
This news couldn’t have come at a worse time for Hansi Flick, who is already missing several attacking options ahead of this decisive clash. Raphinha was expected to bring his pace and ability to disrupt the Madrid defense. The German coach will now have to cope without one of his key men and may be forced to rethink his offensive setup.
Inside the club, the medical staff remains cautious and has scheduled further tests to assess the precise severity of the relapse. If all goes well, a return is hoped for after the November international break, but frustration is running high in Catalonia. Raphinha, who was in top form before his injury, sees his momentum halted once again, just as Barça was looking to build a winning streak to close the gap with Real Madrid.
