Paredes back at Boca and training with team-mates

Leandro Paredes, fresh from the 2026 World Cup with Argentina, reported back to Boca and trained with the squad. He could feature against O'Higgins in the Copa Sudamericana.
According to SuperDepor.com, the club marked his return on social media, welcoming their captain back home. Footage showed him arriving at Casa Amarilla and greeting team-mates, then taking part in training only two days after the final.
Paredes impressed at the tournament, earning a starting place from the last 16 and taking over the holding role from Alexis Mac Allister.
Despite that run, Lionel Scaloni named him on the bench for the final, and he came on at half-time. Argentina were beaten 1-0 by Spain.
Attention now turns to Boca. Paredes could start, or at least log minutes, on Thursday when the Xeneize host O'Higgins of Chile in the first leg of the round of 32.
The Sudamericana is a chance to end an 18-year wait for an international trophy, the last was the 2008 Recopa Sudamericana against Arsenal de Sarandí. This half of the season also brings the Torneo Clausura and the Copa Argentina.
