Paris’s labour court has ordered PSG to pay €61m to Kylian Mbappé for unpaid wages and a withheld bonus, while rejecting the club’s claims against their former player.
According to L'Équipe, the ruling came one month after a tense hearing in a record dispute, with the Real Madrid and France forward seeking €263m and PSG counterclaiming €440m. The club must publish the full judgment on its homepage for one month.
Mbappé’s lawyers said the court ordered provisional enforcement, meaning PSG must pay immediately. They noted the club had waited for the decision and urged it to comply without bailiffs, adding that football is not above the law.
In a separate statement, his counsel said the ruling confirms commitments must be honoured and that labour law applies to everyone in professional football. They added he fulfilled his sporting and contractual obligations over seven years, withdrew a harassment complaint to ease tensions, and has sought payment for more than 18 months.
PSG said it takes note of the judgment and will execute it while reserving the right to appeal. The club insisted it has acted in good faith and is now focused on unity and collective success, wishing the player well for his career.
