Paul Merson’s piece for Sky Sports today was largely about Liam Rosenior and his antics over the last week. But the former Arsenal man also touched on another major Blues story – Enzo Fernandez hinting that he might be leaving this summer.

“He’ll have to stay, they paid £100m for him and they’re not getting that £100m back if they sell him this summer, unless he has an unbelievable World Cup,” Merson pointed out quite reasonably.

“With Financial Fair Play rules and everything, they can’t afford to let him go for a huge loss, unless they sell an academy player for huge money – and they’re not selling Reece James who has just signed a new contract. So I can’t see Enzo Fernandez going anywhere.”

Enzo likely to stay – but that’s not the only problem

We can’t see anyone paying what he want for him – but the fact that players bought as cornerstones of the XI are openly considering their future is so damaging.

In other news…

“Soft” players in the Chelsea squad are letting them down in big games claims one of the top Blues podcasts out there.

Newcastle are apparently interested in not one but TWO Chelsea attackers ahead of a potential summer move. We can see one of them happening.
