Paul Pogba is in line to return to Monaco’s squad for the Ligue 1 visit of Marseille at Louis II on Sunday 5 April, 20:45, matchday 28.

Head coach Sébastien Pocognoli said the 33-year-old is available, with three training sessions still to come, that selection is possible, and that any omission would be a joint call, with no current contraindications.

Pogba has not featured for Monaco since 5 December, the 1-0 defeat at Brest, due to a calf problem. On 26 March, 11 days after his 33rd birthday, he played 30 minutes and scored in a friendly at La Turbie against Brentford’s under-23s, which ended 1-2.

He then travelled to Barcelona with Ansu Fati and worked at FC Barcelona’s facilities to sharpen up, before returning to train with the Monaco group throughout the international break. He signed a two-year deal in June and has only three appearances and 30 minutes for the club so far.

The match carries weight in the Champions League race, with Marseille third on 49 points and Monaco sixth on 46. Left wing-back Kassoum Ouattara is out for the season with a knee injury, joining Vanderson, Henrique, Minamino and Salisu on the sidelines.
