Paulista Federation bans Gaviões da Fiel from São Paulo stadiums

The São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) has ordered the prohibition of Gaviões da Fiel, the main organized supporters’ group of Corinthians, from entering stadiums in the state of São Paulo. The measure complies with a request from the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office, made by the prosecutor of the Special Criminal Court of the Capital (Jecrim). In an official statement, FPF vice president Mauro Silva announced that the punishment will be valid from December 10, 2025, until the end of 2026.

The request was formalized through official letter No. 077/2025, issued by Jecrim-SP. The recommendation is based on the fight involving members of Gaviões da Fiel and Torcida Independente, from São Paulo FC, after the Majestoso played at the end of November. On that occasion, members of both organized groups clashed in the Bixiga region, in downtown São Paulo.

“Considering the report from the 2nd Shock Police Battalion describing violent conflicts between supporters of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista and São Paulo Futebol Clube as a result of the match between these two teams, held on November 20 at 8 p.m. at Neo Química Arena, for the Brazilian Championship, with people visibly wearing shirts identifying the Gaviões da Fiel and Torcida Independente supporters’ groups,” wrote Roberto Bocal, the prosecutor responsible for the case.

“We recommend the suspension of the Gaviões da Fiel organized supporters’ group until the end of 2026, without the right to banners, flags, musical instruments, or any identifying apparel in any championships, throughout the entire national territory,” the prosecutor added, without mentioning an equivalent punishment for São Paulo’s organized group.

In its defense, Gaviões da Fiel claimed that its members were victims of an ambush while returning to their vehicles. However, the prosecutor contested this version, stating that the encounter was a “pre-planned armed confrontation,” given the number of people involved—especially members of Gaviões themselves.

So far, the organized supporters’ groups have not released an official statement. The Gaviões board, however, said that its legal department is already aware of the FPF’s decision and that, “at the appropriate time,” it will release its response. The decision already directly affects the return leg of the Copa do Brasil: on Sunday, at 6 p.m., Corinthians will face Cruzeiro at Neo Química Arena without the presence of Gaviões.

The order prevents any fan—of Corinthians or other clubs—from entering the stadium carrying items linked to the organized group. Caps, shirts, flags, banners, and any object associated with the group are banned. It’s important to note that São Paulo derbies already take place with only one set of fans, so this measure does not change that scenario. However, federations in other states may choose to follow the recommendation and bar Gaviões from matches outside São Paulo.

At the start of the season, in the Paulistão final against Palmeiras, all organized groups—including Gaviões—had been punished for using flares and fireworks at Neo Química Arena. At that time, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested and the FPF accepted the ban of the supporters’ groups from the stadium. Later, in October, the organized groups managed to reverse the suspension after signing a “conduct adjustment agreement,” committing not to repeat the pyrotechnic acts.

Since then, complying with the determination, Corinthians fans have not held pyrotechnic displays at Neo Química Arena or any other stadium.
