Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira has revealed that Morgan Gibbs-White, Murillo, Ibrahim Sangare and Dan Ndoye all remain injured.

All four players were named on the bench this evening as Forest’s European dreams came to a crushing end. Despite this, Pereira has since admitted that none of them were fit to play.

“If you look at our bench today, we brought three players in condition to play – Lorenzo Lucca, Dilane Bakwa and Ryan Yates,” said the Forest boss. “We had three injured players not in condition to go on the pitch and help the team, three boys from the academy and Murillo.

“Murillo was a risk to play. He was not yet ready to play.”

The Reds carried a 1-0 lead into the second leg of their Europa League semi-final. However, a resounding 4-0 defeat on the night to Aston Villa ended their dreams of achieving glory on the continent.

Forest must now turn their attention back to the Premier League, where their survival is not yet assured. With three games remaining, they remain just six points clear of the relegation zone.

The Reds welcome Newcastle to the City Ground on Sunday but they could be without a number of key players.

“Aina out. Dan Ndoye out. Sangare out. Callum (Hudson-Odoi) out. Murillo out. Morgan out. It is too much. I don’t know if some of them can recover for the next match.

“We tried everything but we didn’t have the solutions. When we tried to risk something with the solutions we had on the bench, they scored two more goals. A sad day, difficult, but we need to look for the future.”

“In the end, I am proud of my team and my players, proud of our supporters. We came without conditions to compete for the final, difficult conditions for us.”
