Vasco lost 2-1 to Santos at Vila Belmiro, Neymar scoring both as Barros briefly levelled.

Full-back Paulo Henrique endured a torrid night, his backwards header gifting the second goal, with Saldivia also exposed. Nuno Moreira squandered a clear chance against Brazão before going off early in the second half. According to Globo.com, the trio were rated Vasco's poorest performers.

Léo Jardim misplaced one pass that conceded a corner, otherwise he was scarcely tested and not at fault for the goals. Lucas Piton was the steadiest defender, while Andrés Gómez created the equaliser and offered the main threat as Johan Rojas faded and was replaced by Brenner.

Thiago Mendes duelled with Neymar throughout and was booked in the flashpoint. Cuiabano's display unravelled after a bright start and he later blasted a rehearsed corner routine into the stands, while Spinelli toiled with poor decisions before David arrived to supply a dangerous cross. Marino Hinestroza again failed to change the game, and Brenner had little influence.

Bruno Lazaroni kept Diniz's structure, the same defensive flaws and wastefulness persisted and the second half changes made the side worse. Vasco are now bottom of the Brasileirão.
