FFF president Philippe Diallo says the federation is in talks with cinema chains to show France’s World Cup matches free this summer, in response to the high cost of tickets in North America. “We are in discussion with cinema networks to show our matches free,” he told France Info.
Diallo acknowledged the very high prices for 2026 World Cup tickets in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and the difficulty some fans face given the budgets required to travel. He said some will not go to the United States.
He added that discussions with cinema networks are ongoing and that the FFF is considering using these venues to broadcast France games at no cost.
“Football and the World Cup must remain popular and therefore accessible to all,” Diallo said, adding that the federation plans a number of initiatives around a tournament running from 11 June to 19 July. He said the target for Les Bleus is at least the semi-finals.
France will face Senegal on 16 June at 21:00, Iraq on 22 June at 23:00 and Norway on 26 June at 21:00 in Group I.
