Images of the aftermath of a string of heavy challenges on the part of Atlético Madrid’s players on their Barcelona counterparts have come to the fore online.

This comes amid the hotly-contested ongoing battle between the two sides.

Barcelona and Atlético are of course currently locked in action, late in the 2nd leg of a Copa del Rey semi-final tie.

As things stand, it is the former who are primed to advance, owing to a solitary first-half strike on the part of Ferran Torres.

As alluded to above, though, whilst the Blaugrana boast the advantage as things stand, their lead on the scoreline has come at a cost.

Several of Hansi Flick’s star performers have been the victims of frankly dangerous challenges over the course of the 90 minutes.

All of Raphinha, Eric García and Lamine Yamal were subjected to studs-up tackles which left each in evident distress on the Metropolitano turf.
