Against Pineta, Milan had one of the best first halves of the season and they took advantage of the first big chance in the 25th minute when Quirini tucked the ball into the corner after a beautiful long pass from Branca.

As has been a theme all season, the opposition scored with their first real chance of their match with the half-time substitute Marrancone scoring after Malaspina’s error in the build-up phase.

The Abruzzesi completed the turnaround in the 73rd minute with their second shot of the game and again it was a new entry who scored. Chakir crossed into the middle for Gambale, who got past Camporese and beat Raveyre.

A dramatic last 15 minutes would ensure, starting with when the Futuro hit the woodwork twice in a few seconds. Quirini struck the bar with a header from a corner then then the upright after the ball came back to him.

Something quite remarkable and ridiculous happened with 10 minutes left. The referee Mazzoni awarded the Futuro a penalty for a handball in the area. After fierce protests from the Pineto players and the assistant’s support he reversed the decision.
