Player ratings: academy youngsters steer Corinthians to 3-0 win against Capivariano

Corinthians, fielding a largely second string side, beat Capivariano 3-0 at Neo Química Arena in the sixth round of the Campeonato Paulista, with academy products driving the win.

According to Globo.com, Dorival Júnior selected a heavily rotated XI with the Supercopa Rei and a derby against Palmeiras in mind.

Matheus Pereira went close from range after five minutes, and Kaio César, lively early on, left injured on 14 minutes, bringing on Dieguinho.

Hugo also departed hurt on 38 minutes and Matheus Bidu came on to lift the left flank.

After the break Garro found his rhythm, dribbling past his man and sliding the pass for Dieguinho to open the scoring.

Dieguinho then created the second for Gui Negão, who headed in, and Memphis Depay combined with Kayke for the forward to finish clinically for the third.
