Lazio returned to Rome with only one point in the bag after playing out a goalless draw against Cagliari at the Unipol Domus Stadium.
The home side had the upper hand in the first half, coming close on three occasions. On the other hand, the Biancocelesti waited until the final minutes to launch an onslaught following Yerry Mina’s dismissal, but it proved to be too little too late.
So, how did Maurizio Sarri’s men fare on Sardinian soil?
Ivan Provedel – 6
An easy clean sheet for the Lazio goalkeeper, who only had a couple of routine saves to make.
Adam Marusic – 6
The Montenegrin was solid at the back, but he almost had no involvement in the attacking phase.
Alessio Romagnoli – 6.5
A comfortable showing from the experienced defender who did well while dealing with Semih Kilicsoy and Sebastiano Esposito, although the latter escaped him on one occasion.
Oliver Provstgaard – 6
The Dane was given a couple of scares by Marco Palestra and was certainly relieved to be bailed out by a tight offside call, but it remains a convincing defensive display.
Luca Pellegrini – 5
The Italian left-back had a torrid evening as he found it hard to contain Palestra with his menacing runs and neat dribbling.
Reda Belahyane – 6
The young Moroccan showed some surprisingly neat footwork on a couple of occasions, but his impact faded after the break.
Nicolo Rovella – 6
The Regista remains far from his best, and his outing ended with a shoulder injury after being fouled by Ze Pedro.
Kenneth Taylor – 6
The Dutchman has already become essential for Maurizio Sarri’s system, but his attacking involvement was limited this time.
Gustav Isaksen – 5.5
The Danish winger tried to embark on ambitious runs, but the Cagliari defenders comfortably dealt with him.
Daniel Maldini – 5.5
The versatile attacker was bullied off the ball by Mina and Co. as he once again failed to make the required impact while acting as a striker.
Mattia Zaccagni – 5.5
A subdued display from the Lazio captain, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise after spending the last few weeks nursing an injury.

Danilo Cataldi – 6.5
A solid outing from the Lazio stalwart who tested Elia Aprile with a cheeky free-kick to the near post, and came close to scoring a last-gasp winner with a sublime curler.
Matteo Cancellieri – 5.5
The Italian winger was introduced to add some energy to the right flank, but he lacked a marquee moment.
Petar Ratkov – 5.5
The Serbian striker tried to set up his teammates on a couple of occasions, but was reluctant to shoot himself.
Nuno Tavares – 6
Another positive outing from the Portuguese full-back, who revived the left wing following his introduction.
Tijjani Noslin – 6.5
The Dutchman caused Mina’s expulsion with his first action of the game. Combined well with Nuno Tavares.
