At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Lazio rounded off a miserable week by suffering another 0-2 defeat, this time against their most despised rivals, Roma.

The Biancocelesti had their chances in the first half, but the Giallorossi headed to the break with the advantage thanks to Gianluca Mancini’s header. The Italian defender replicated this feat in the second period to cement himself as the ultimate Man of the Match.

Here are our player ratings for Lazio, who sustained their second Derby della Capitale defeat of the season.

Lazio XI (4-3-3)

Alessio Furlanetto – 6

The Lazio debutant came close to denying Mancini on both occasions, putting a hand to the ball, but the power took it past him. But he still made six saves, including one that prevented Tavares from scoring an own goal.

Adam Maruric – 5.5

Not a terrible outing from the Montengrin, but found some success against Wesley, but as always, doesn’t offer anything going forward.

Mario Gila – 5

The Spaniard made some good interventions and looked calm and composed in possession, but he was beaten twice in the air by Mancini, which ultimately made the difference.

Oliver Provstgaard – 6

The Danish defender held his own against Donyell Malen, helping Lazio avoid a larger defeat.

Nuno Tavares – 5

The Portuguese left-back almost scored an own goal early in the game. He found himself in a promising position on several occasions, but was always wasteful.

Toma Basic – 5

Pre-match reports suggested that the Croatian wasn’t at his best physically, and it certainly showed, as the Lazio midfielder looked out of sorts and at times struggled to complete simple tasks.

Nicolo Rovella – 4.5

The Regista was already struggling to make an impact, as his connection with his teammates seemed to be off, and his outing ended with a red card for brawling with Wesley.

Kenneth Taylor – 5.5

The former Ajax man has been on a steep decline in recent weeks, and he wasn’t able to cope with the pace set by Roma players in the second half.

Matteo Cancellieri – 5.5

The Italian winger looked lively in the early stages, threatening with a couple of attempts, but his impact dwindled after the break.

Boulaye Dia – 5

The Senegalese played a few clever passes to release his teammates, but much more was required from the man entrusted with leading the line for Lazio.

Tijjani Noslin – 6

The Dutchman confirmed his status as the club’s most impactful attacker in the late stages of the season. He picked up his teammates with smart plays and came close to scoring on one occasion, but his low drive whistled past the post.

Substitutes

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru – 5.5

The Nigerian took over from the underwhelming Taylor, but wasn’t necessarily an upgrade.

Daniel Maldini – 6

The Italian attacker was eager to make the most out of his cameo, taking on his man and trying to force his way into the box. But it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Gustav Isaksen – N/A

Daniel Maldini – N/A

Manuel Lazzari – N/A
