Lamine Yamal has had an exceptional 2024-25 season in which he played a very prominent part in helping his team win the La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup titles.

He was also one of the most impressive players in the UEFA Champions League, as he led his team to the semi-final stage. He shone brightly in this round, as well, with glittering performances against Inter Milan.

The fact that he has performed at such a high level at only 17 years of age makes his performances even more incredible, and the Blaugrana winger has gathered praise from different quarters in recent months.

Sergio Aguero highlights Yamal’s team spirit

Currently, he is enjoying vacations in Brazil, but is still getting praised by some of the most prominent personalities in the world of football.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the latest such individual to speak highly of the Spanish winger was the midfielder Paul Pogba, who is set to return to professional football next season after a break of several years.

The Frenchman appeared on a podcast with the former Barcelona forward Sergio Aguero and highlighted one particular characteristic of Yamal’s game that makes him so special.

It was Aguero who first highlighted the young forward’s team spirit, as he said:

“Lamine Yamal plays for the team and doesn’t care whether he scores more or fewer goals. He provides many assists and is always a player who creates chances.”

Replying to the Argentine, Pogba also agreed with this assessment:

“He’s a wonderful player. What surprises me most is his mentality. He always plays with clarity, and for that to happen with a player his age is crazy. He always plays for the team.”

This team spirit and creativity have not been talked about as much as his dribbling and ability to withstand pressure, even at the biggest of stages. Thus, it was good to see a midfielder as prominent as Paul Pogba highlighting these aspects, and hopefully, Lamine Yamal will continue showcasing his talents in the upcoming season.
