Lautaro Martinez has received a €5000 fine for a blasphemous outburst following a Serie A clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.
This is confirmed by the Italian FA. They confirm in a brief official statement, via FCInterNews, that the the Inter Milan captain has reached a settlement regarding the matter.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez was at the centre of controversy following Inter Milan’s Serie A loss to Juventus in February.
The Argentine lost his temper after the final whistle. He vented his feelings following the frustrating loss for the Nerazzurri in the Derby d’Italia.
And then, allegations emerged that Martinez had used blasphemous language during his angry tirade.

The Italian FA investigated the incident.
However, there was no conclusive evidence that showed that Lautaro Martinez had used the offending language.
Nevertheless, the matter would not rest.
There was something of a media firestorm regarding the alleged blasphemous outburst.
Moreover, a group of Juventus supporters filed an official complaint. This restarted the investigation into Martinez’s outburst.
There was even a risk that Martinez could face a one-match suspension had the Italian FA conclusively determined that he had used blasphemous language.
However, in the end Martinez has settled with the Italian FA.
The Inter captain will pay a €5000 fine. And that brings the matter to a close.
