The club has posted the survey results on the Celtic FC website with this opening message:
Celtic Football Club is pleased today to release the results of its most wide-ranging supporter survey ever conducted.
The survey, which has been undertaken by almost 50,000 supporters worldwide and carried out with the support of the University of Strathclyde Business School, has delivered a range of important information and insights which the Club will use to inform its operations as it moves forward.
Let’s have a look…

The survey opens with this introduction from Celtic FC CEO Michael Nicholson.
Celtic Football Club is pleased to release the findings of the most comprehensive survey of Celtic fans ever undertaken.
Our brief to the University of Strathclyde was to design, deliver and analyse a robust, objective research project that placed the voices of Celtic supporters at its very heart. Almost 50,000 supporters responded to this survey; sharing their views, experiences, and aspirations for our Club.
The scale and depth of this response underline the extraordinary level of interest and engagement among Celtic supporters. The scope of the project has meant that analysis and presentation have taken time, but the relevance of what emerges is not diminished.
This report seeks to respect and reflect those voices faithfully and independently. Where there are areas of challenge or dissatisfaction, they are reported transparently. Equally, where there are positives to celebrate, they are highlighted. The intention in commissioning the survey was to ensure that the Club has clear, actionable evidence to inform its decision making and strategy going forward.
That work has already started, and we look forward to taking it forward in partnership with our fans.
I thank the University of Strathclyde team for allowing us to build a rounded picture of what matters most to supporters, from matchday experiences to Club values, ticketing, facilities, communication, and future ambitions. Thanks also to Goodform for helping to present the information in a clear and accessible way.
Most importantly, I thank all of the supporters who engaged with the survey. Your involvement in this project will play a key role in informing the future of the Club we all love.

So to the findings…50k responses, 84% male, 15% female and 1% other. 84% are aged 18-64 placing them in the adult ticket age group, while 13% are 65+ placing them in the senior ticket age group, while 4% are aged 16-17 and therefore at the time the survey was conducted were in the younger ticket age group. So essentially 84% are paying full ticket prices, whether that’s for season tickets or Matchday tickets. There’s a breakdown of the percentages in the various ticket categories in the survey.
We’ll cover the Executive Summary then let you read the full survey yourselves. It’s very interesting so put the kettle on and give this an hour of your time.

SUMMARY OF RESULTS

Seasonal hospitality is used mainly for personal use (75%) and receives high satisfaction ratings for customer service (76%) and facilities (69%), though fans suggested improvements in the variety of food and drink, staffing, and pricing. To improve the general matchday experience, fans would like to see better catering, more entertainment, and enhanced ticket office services.

The atmosphere at Celtic Park is overwhelmingly praised, with 91% of fans rating it as either “Excellent” or “Good,” which contributes to a positive overall matchday experience for 88% of supporters. 29% of fans surveyed reported unsatisfactory experiences, and among this group, one-third highlighted stadium facilities as a primary issue, specifically mentioning Wi-Fi/mobile connectivity, catering outlets, and toilets. When it comes to stadium layout, an overall trend shows that 60% of fans who attend games at Celtic Park would be interested in moving into a safe standing section. In contrast, 41% of Season Ticket holders would be opposed to relocating their seat to accommodate more safe standing. Regarding transportation to the stadium, the car is the most dominant mode (36%). However, 57% of fans would use public transport if it were improved. 3. Away Games, Overseas Supporters, Following Celtic FC & Women’s Football
For away games, only 5% of regular home match attendees (from a survey of 32,610) consistently go to away matches. Overseas fans are highly engaged, with 92% watching games, often through Celtic TV (39%) or other streaming platforms. In the UK and Ireland, Sky Sports is the primary broadcast source for 29% of fans. While 56% of these fans would use Pay-Per-View, a significant 76% would not substitute it for attending games in person. In terms of women’s football, 47% of supporters (17,510 respondents) expressed interest, but only 21% of those actually attend games, with location and matchdays being the main factors affecting their attendance.

5. Retail & Venue
The retail experience is a positive one for most fans, with 90% of respondents shopping in-store and 80% shopping online. The Superstore is the most popular in-store destination, attracting 33% of shoppers. Both in-store and online experiences are highly rated. In-store, customer service and appearance both received 91% approval, while online, product quality was rated at 86% and variety at 84%.
