According to Glorioso 1904, Porto have contacted the Portuguese Football Federation and Liga Portugal after the Gianluca Prestianni and Vinícius Júnior controversy, calling for zero tolerance and tough penalties for discrimination.

The club’s letter requested heavy punishments in any discrimination cases and asked to be informed of the measures being taken to prevent similar incidents in Portuguese stadiums.

Porto also urged the Liga to reflect the stance of the SADs against racism, and asked the FPF to assist UEFA, within its remit, in the governing body’s ongoing investigation.

Their aim is an institutional response that serves both evaluation and prevention, as Porto’s SAD considers such cases have huge media impact and affect the image of Portuguese football.

Liga Portugal will not comment publicly, since the match concerned falls under UEFA’s jurisdiction, but it is monitoring the case involving Prestianni and Vinícius Júnior. Meanwhile, Real Madrid want UEFA to sanction the Argentine before the second leg of the play-off for a place in the Champions League last 16.
