O Jogo reports that Porto will file a disciplinary complaint over Gonçalo Inácio’s challenge on William Gomes in the early minutes of the Taça de Portugal semi-final second leg.
The Portuguese centre-back caught the Brazilian and no foul was awarded by the refereeing team led by Miguel Nogueira, from the Lisbon association.
Porto question why VAR did not intervene, maintaining the incident warranted further review.
The club believe the tackle merited a straight red card, arguing it endangered William Gomes’ physical integrity and that the Brazilian would have been isolated inside Sporting’s area.
Sporting announced yesterday their intention to submit a similar complaint against Gabri Veiga for a foul on Hjulmand.
