Portsmouth loanee Gale recalled by Arsenal | OneFootball

Portsmouth loanee Jessie Gale has been recalled by parent club Arsenal.

Pompey announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

The teenager was set to spend the entire season with the Barclays WSL2 side, however, she returns to Arsenal ahead of schedule at the campaign’s halfway point.

Gale has made 15 appearances for Portsmouth in all competitions in which she has scored five goals. The forward has helped Pompey build on the progress that the club made in the second tier last season.

Gale joined parent club Arsenal’s academy system at the age of 17 and she quickly established herself in their Professional Game Academy League side. The forward has won the FIFA Youth Cup and Professional Game Academy League Under-21 Division One title with The Gunners’ academy side. Last season also saw Gale get her first taste of senior football in a dual-registration spell with third tier side Watford. The player netted seven goals in 21 outings for The Golden Girls.

With Gale now returning to Arsenal, the player’s next career move is not yet known. The forward has trained with the first team previously, although she needs to be playing regular competitive football to continue her development.
