Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday night at Anfield.
The Reds are trailing by 1-0 from the first leg, and they need to come up with a strong performance to reach the finals of this competition, which they won last season under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are heading into this game on the back of a 2-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League, and Arne Slot is likely to make a few changes from that fixture.
Slot said in the press conference that he has already decided who will be in goal against Spurs, but he didn’t disclose it to the reporters.
Liverpool will face Plymouth next after this game in the FA Cup, and Caoimhin Kelleher could start in that fixture. This means Alisson Becker should continue in goal.
Keeping the Plymouth game in mind, Slot is also unlikely to change the defensive pair of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
However, Conor Bradley will start after Slot confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will definitely miss this game due to injury. It is not clear how long Alexander-Arnold will be out on the sidelines, and Bradley, 21, is now expected to get a run of games.
Likewise, Kostas Tsimikas should also get the nod ahead of Andy Robertson. The Greek defender has done well this season and deserves to play in all the cup games.
In midfield, Slot might be tempted to start with Curtis Jones, but he is most likely to make an impact from the bench again. Dominick Szoboszlai should retain in place alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo should continue, but Slot could bring Darwin Nunez into the side in place of Luis Diaz. Diogo Jota will make the bench once again.
Slot is, therefore, likely to make three changes from the win against the Cherries. Bradley is definitely going to start, while Tsmikas and Nunez could return to the starting line-up against Spurs.
