Arsenal’s victory on Brighton’s turf (1-0) left a mark well beyond the final score. While the Gunners made a huge step forward in the title race thanks to a goal from Bukayo Saka, Mikel Arteta’s men didn’t convince everyone—especially on the opposing bench.

Brighton’s head coach, Fabian Hürzeler, was visibly frustrated after the match and didn’t hold back when speaking to the media.

“There was only one team trying to play football today. I will never be the kind of manager who tries to win like that.”

The German manager also called out some of the London club’s tactics, adding:

“They do whatever they want: there must be a limit to time-wasting and that limit should be set by the Premier League.”

On his side, Mikel Arteta opted for a calm response. Made aware of his counterpart’s criticism, the Spanish coach chose to praise his players’ commitment instead of fueling the controversy.
