FC Barcelona are on the cusp of securing their first signing of the summer with Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia set to join the club.
As reported earlier today, the 24-year-old shot-stopper, who enjoyed a brilliant season in La Liga, has given his final green light to the Catalans following a key meeting last night between him, his family, agents, and the club.
The only step that remains is for Barcelona to deposit his €25 million release clause before the transfer can be made official.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, clubs in the Premier League who were keen on signing Joan Garcia have now been made aware that Garcia will be joining Barcelona.
The 24-year-old Spanish ace has made his final decision and will be signing a five-year contract with the La Liga champions until the summer of 2030.

This has been relayed to clubs in England, where teams like Newcastle United, Manchester City, and Manchester United were all expressing an interest.
In fact, Barcelona are expected to finalise the transfer next week by paying his €25 million release clause, marking their first signing of the summer.
The Blaugrana are also confident that there will be no problems registering Garcia’s contract with La Liga once the transfer window opens on July 1.
Garcia is expected to take the starting spot in goal for Barcelona in the next season, which casts uncertainty over the future of captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
