The Premier League has imposed a one-year recruitment ban on Chelsea.

According to Le Progres, the punishment follows financial rules breaches and includes an immediate one-year prohibition on first-team transfers, with a two-year suspended term, and a nine-month ban on academy recruitment. The club must also pay fines totalling £10.75 million.

BlueCo, the American consortium that owns the Blues, also controls Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

At the start of the year, Liam Rosenior left Alsace to take charge of the English side.

Chelsea are scheduled to face PSG on Tuesday at 21:00 in the Champions League last-16 second leg, after a 2-5 first leg.
