Gianluca Prestianni has been in the spotlight since Benfica’s Champions League meeting with Real Madrid, following incidents at Estádio da Luz. UEFA has opened an investigation into the matter.

Record reports that the 20-year-old feels unfairly accused and denies directing racist insults at Vinicius Jr. It adds that he and his family have received death threats and a flood of abusive messages.

Prestianni retains a clear conscience, believing he was not racist towards the Real Madrid winger. He now awaits UEFA’s findings.

Suspended for the AFS fixture, the coming days are viewed as important for him to recharge physically and mentally. He remains available for the Champions League second leg.

This season the Benfica winger has made 30 appearances, 18 in Liga Portugal Betclic, seven in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 1,460 minutes he has two goals and one assist.
