Manchester United travel to Everton looking to return to winning ways at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Red Devils remain unbeaten in five matches under Michael Carrick and were within touching distance of a fifth consecutive victory before being held to a 1–1 draw by West Ham United on February 10.
That result left United just outside the top four, level on points with Chelsea, as the race for Champions League qualification intensified.
However, United have struggled on the road in recent months, with their last away victory coming in December – a 4–1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In the reverse fixture at Old Trafford in November, Everton ran out 1–0 winners. United now head to Merseyside knowing that three points would strengthen their push for a top-four finish.
Carrick’s options are limited by injuries, with three players ruled out for the trip. Patrick Dorgu remains sidelined after sustaining a hamstring injury in January and is not expected back until March or April.
Mason Mount is also unavailable after missing United’s last three matches with a training-ground injury, while Matthijs de Ligt continues his recovery from a back problem that has kept him out since November.
Everton, meanwhile, is aiming to complete a league double over Manchester United for the first time since the 2013–14 season. Their 1–0 win at Old Trafford was their first league success against United since December 2013.
Despite that result, Everton have historically struggled in this fixture and have suffered more home defeats to Manchester United than against any other opponent.
David Moyes’s side sit ninth in the table, three places behind United, and come into the match on the back of a 2–1 defeat to Bournemouth.
They will be eager to respond after enduring a difficult run at their new stadium. Everton have not won at home since their 3–0 victory over Nottingham Forest in early December, and a win on Monday would move them closer to rivals Liverpool in sixth place.
Everton will be without Jake O’Brien, who is suspended after being sent off against Bournemouth, while Jack Grealish is also ruled out with an ankle injury.
The two sides have met 216 times in all competitions, with Manchester United holding the advantage with 96 wins to Everton’s 72, while 48 matches have ended in draws.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm GMT.
