Nottingham Forest and Sunderland go head-to-head at City Ground this Saturday in the Premier League. The match will be broadcast live at 17:30 on Sky Sports Main Event.
Nottingham Forest have won 5 points to date and are placed in 15th position. In their last outing, Ange Postecoglou's team drew 2-2 against Real Betis (UEFA Europa League 2025/26).
Sunderland have picked up 8 points and currently lie in 7th position. In their last game, Régis Le Bris's team drew 1-1 with Aston Villa (Premier League 2025/26).
The last meeting between the two teams ended with Sunderland winning 1-0.
Rich Ferraro (1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast): The match away at Real Betis was a real ride, but it was also really tiring (and that's just for the fans). Played on a hot, humid night, Forest suffered some potential injuries with Luiz and Milenkovic, and others frankly looked dead on their feet.
This is likely to affect team selection, and I can see Ange Postecoglou turning to some players who weren't involved from the start on Wednesday night.
Sunderland will probably be pleased with their start to the season, and have certainly shown that they are no pushovers - so Forest will need nous as well as physicality to try and overcome the Black Cats. All being well, the City Ground should be able to roar the Reds onto their first victory under the big Aussie.
Prediction: 2-1
