But particularly for Inter, it is a chance to rewrite a story that has not been entirely positive.

Firstly, Inter know that their season has not met expectations domestically.

The Nerazzurri have failed to win any silverware in Italy for the first time in five years. They missed on the Supercoppa Italiana to city rivals AC Milan, whilst the Rossoneri knocked them out of the Coppa Italia.

Then, Inter experienced bitter disappointment in the Serie A title race.

Coming into the campaign as big favourites for the Scudetto after last season’s emphatic title triumph, Inter missed out on the last day of the season.

The Nerazzurri had too many slip-ups in the league. Therefore, they wound up finishing a point behind Napoli.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi risks finishing the season without any trophies for the first time since he arrived on the Nerazzurri bench in 2021.

However, on the other hand, Inzaghi could achieve his most impressive trophy yet.

Inter have already been in the Champions League final once under the former Lazio coach. They reached the final of the 2022-23 season.

Inter faced Manchester City that time around. The team went toe-to-toe with the Premier League juggernauts – but nevertheless lost the match 1-0.

Therefore, Inter have a real feeling of unfinished business after that heartbreak.

However, there is also a renewed belief in the team that they are capable of rewriting the story this time out.

PSG Aiming For Treble Glory & First Ever Champions League Crown

On the either side of the equation, Inter’s opponents Paris Saint-Germain, led by coach Luis Enrique, have enjoyed a dominant domestic season.

The Parisians won both the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France in emphatic style.

Therefore, for PSG, there is the chance to secure the European Treble if they are to prevail in Munich tomorrow.

Paris Saint-Germain have been in the Champions League final once before. They lost to Bayern Munich by a 1-0 scoreline in 2020.

However, that is closest the French side have ever come to securing the trophy.

PSG have targeted European glory for years. But this season under Luis Enrique they look to have found a chemistry that has eluded them for much of that period.

The Parisians had a mixed league phase this season. But they roared back in the winter, with a 4-2 comeback win over Manchester City epitomizing their improvements.

PSG knocked out three Premier League teams to reach the final – Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Inter eliminated the likes of Feyenoord, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona in the knockout rounds.

The tie against the Blaugranas in particular proved to be an all-time classic – with Inter winning 7-6 on aggregate in extra time.

Team News – PSG Vs Inter Milan Champions League Final: Injuries & Suspensions

In terms of injuries and suspensions, neither Inter nor PSG are dealing with any significant absences.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi should have a full squad at his disposal.

Lautaro Martinez is back after a thigh problem that caused the Inter captain to miss his team’s last few league matches of the season.

He incurred the injury during Inter’s semifinal tie against Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard is back from an ankle sprain. He last appeared in Inter’s Serie A loss to Roma at the end of April.

Yann Bisseck was a slight doubt after suffering a minor knee issue during Inter’s Serie A season-ender against Como. Meanwhile, Piotr Zielinski had missed that match due to a muscle problem.

However, all of Inter’s senior squad should be fit and available tomorrow. Forward Joaquin Correa, however, is not a part of Inter’s Champions League squad.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are missing defender Presnel Kimpembe. The France international’s season came to an end after he underwent foot surgery this month.

Otherwise, however, PSG coach Luis Enrique can call upon his entire squad.

Keep An Eye On: Denzel Dumfries – Inter’s Not-So-Secret Weapon

With no major injury concerns, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will certainly go with his first-choice starting eleven. That means that the Nerazzurri will have plenty of difference-makers on the pitch.

From talismanic captain Lautaro Martinez to world-class Italian internationals like Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella.

Veterans Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Yann Sommer are almost certainly staring at their final opportunity to win the Champions League.

And the aging duo played like it in the previous rounds. Mkhitaryan’s tireless running and Sommer’s heroics in goal have certainly helped Inter get to this stage.

However, the player who could really be key for Inter is Denzel Dumfries.

The Dutchman had missed the quarterfinals against Bayern Munich. However, on his return against Barcelona, he was all-important.

Inter look a different side when Dumfries is marauding down the right flank.

The 29-year-old’s pace and the timing of his runs were something Barcelona could not live with. He was ruthless in punishing their high defensive line.

With two assists in the second leg against Barcelona, Dumfries crowned what had already been a hugely accomplished season.

Dumfries has scored nine goals and made five assists in forty appearances across all competitions for Inter this campaign.

And Inter will be hoping the Dutchman can produce something similar against PSG tomorrow.

The battle between Dumfries and former Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhlia could be where tomorrow’s final is won and lost.

Concluding Remarks: Inter Milan No Underdogs

Paris Saint-Germain are the team widely favoured among pundits and betting markets going into tomorrow’s final.

The Ligue 1 giants’ imperious domestic form and the quality of their displays against teams like Manchester City and Liverpool have seen many tip them to finally go all the way in Europe.

However, Inter have been here 24 months ago. The Nerazzurri were almost universally seen as second favourites against Manchester City.

City may have won on that occasion. However, it was a thoroughly even contest, and Inter missed several good chances to at least force extra time.

Similarly, the Nerazzurri have further established their European credentials this season.

Inter began their European campaign with a hard-fought draw away to 2023 final opponents City.

A league phase followed which saw Inter secure memorable wins against Arsenal, RB Leipzig, and Monaco, only conceding one goal in eight matches.

Then in the knockout rounds, Inter defied their doubters against Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri will feel all the confidence in the world that they can hold their own against PSG. And perhaps even take the final step that was missing in 2023.
