Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers clash this Saturday at Bramall Lane in Matchweek 46 of the EFL Championship. The match will be broadcast live at 12:30 on Sky Sports +.
Pipped to the promotion post by Leeds and Burnley, the Blades have 89 points to their name this season and sit third after a 0-2 win against Stoke in their last game.
Blackburn, meanwhile, are still in with a very slim chance of a play-off berth if they can win this one. Valérien Ismaël's team won 2-1 against Watford last time out and will no doubt be going all out for three points.
The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-0 Sheffield United win.
Theo (All Things Blades): The final game of the regular season looms and Sheffield United will be wanting to end on a high before the dreaded play-offs begin next week.
The Blades are looking to reach 92 points, which would be their record amount in the Championship, and to also make it two wins in a row to boost momentum going into the play offs. I’m expecting Chris Wilder to put out a strong starting XI, as it’s the last chance for the players to cement their place in the team for the first leg of our play-off semi.
Stephen Gillett (Playmaker Stats on Blackburn): The only predictable thing about Blackburn this season has been their unpredictability and after seemingly blowing any hopes they had of reaching the play-offs, they have stormed to four wins in a row to give themselves an outside shot of a top six finish.
Results definitely need to go their way, but Rovers will be going all out here for a fifth straight win against a team already guaranteed to be in the post-season knockout phase.
Blackburn have been solid defensively on their travels recently...but can they cause problems at the other end against the Blades? Prediction: 2-0
