Rounding off the ADIDAS U.S. TOUR, Eintracht take on Philadelphia Union, leaders in the Eastern Conference, in what will be a special game for Paxten Aaronson.

“We made a conscious decision to do recovery work on Thursday, and today we had an intensive session. Now we want to round off our training camp on Saturday with a good game against a really good team,” said head coach Dino Toppmöller on Friday afternoon after training. The opponents on Saturday evening, at the end of ADIDAS U.S. TOUR 2025, are MLS club Philadelphia Union. A high-quality encounter to complete the nearly two-week training camp in the United States of America. Kick-off at Subaru Park is at 17:30 local time (23:30 CEST).

Homecoming for Aaronson

For Paxten Aaronson, who grew up in nearby New Jersey and came through the Union academy, it’s going to be a particularly special evening. “It obviously feels nice to return to the club where it all began for me. I came to Union when I was ten and worked my way up to the first team. It’ll be a special game for me and I’m really looking forward to it,” said the American, who’s back in the Eintracht fold after a season-long loan at FC Utrecht in the Netherlands. “We’re happy to have him back with us. As a team, we want to go as far as possible in every competition, so we’ll need every single player for that. He’s an important part of the group,” added Toppmöller about Aaronson.

The Major League Soccer season is in full swing. The Union currently sit top of the Eastern Conference after the recent 3-1 win over Colorado Rapids, with 25 matchdays already played. They’re also in the quarter-finals of the US Open Cup, where they meet New York in around two weeks. The team are coached by Bradley Carnell, who spent much of his playing career in Germany at Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hasta Rostock and has been in the post since the start of this year.

Training camp ends on Sunday
