‘Problems Off The Pitch’ Make Liverpool Star ‘More Likely’ For Club Than Man City Man | OneFootball

Napoli are ‘more likely’ to sign Liverpool‘s Darwin Nunez than Manchester City‘s Jack Grealish, who has ‘problems off the pitch’, in the view of an Italian journalist.

With Antonio Conte leading Napoli to the Serie A title this season, the Italian giants are looking to back him and another striker to compete with and alternate with Romelu Lukaku is a big focus.

They are also looking for difference makers elsewhere, which has led to Manchester City winger Grealish being looked at.

Grealish is expected to depart the Etihad this summer after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola.

Liverpool’s Nunez is a leading candidate to come in to compete with Lukaku and Sky Italia journalist Gianluigi Bagnulo feels he is more likely to arrive than Grealish.

He stressed Grealish has off the pitch issues and indicated they could put Napoli off, while he feels Nunez just needs to get back to scoring goals and could then flourish.

Bagnulo said via Area Napoli: “Darwin Nunez is more likely than Jack Grealish, who I don’t think will arrive because he has had various problems off the pitch.

“When Darwin and [Erling] Haaland arrived in the Premier League, they were considered two players who went hand in hand.

“I had followed many games at Benfica from the sidelines and I had fallen in love with Nunez.

“We are talking about a very strong striker, but who needs to find his harmony with the goal again.”

Nunez has not lived up to expectations at Liverpool since he arrived on a big money move from Benfica and the Reds are tipped to sell him.

Atletico Madrid have also been linked with the Uruguayan and the jury is out on whether Napoli will make a substantial bid for him.
