France's government has sent the National Assembly a provisional agenda that omits the bill to reform professional football governance, despite the Senate passing it last June.
According to L'Équipe, political signals in recent weeks had pointed to a six April sitting for the measure, yet the newly revealed schedule does not confirm that.
A letter from the ministry for relations with Parliament, sent to Assembly president Yaël Braun-Pivet, lists priority business for April to June 2026. The football governance reform is absent, though it could still be added before this parliamentary window closes.
With irritation growing among football stakeholders and in the Senate, the Sports Ministry has indicated the text could be examined in April or in June. FFF president Philippe Diallo said government slots may open, and he retains reasonable hope the bill might be scheduled in April.
If it is confirmed that the bill will not reach the Assembly before the summer, its application would be delayed, even if it passes. As things stand, implementation would not be possible before the 2027-2028 season at the earliest.
