With the 2026 World Cup underway, Barcelona have scaled back their transfer planning for the next few weeks. However, sporting director Deco is still hard at work, as he seeks to get things in order at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Anthony Gordon is already in the door, but Barcelona have plans to add at least two or three more new names to Hansi Flick’s squad. A star striker is wanted to replace the departing Robert Lewandowski, while there should also be at least one defender brought in, with centre-back and full-back both primed to be addressed.
Generally, Deco has been scouring the market, as he seeks to put Barcelona in the best-possible position for when they make their move. He’s spoken to a number of agents over the last few weeks, and on Tuesday, Sport have revealed that he had a meeting with Javi Garrido to discuss two players in particular: Javi Guerra and Lee Kang-in.
Guerra’s father was also in attendance during these talks, as informal talks took place regarding the Valencia midfielder, who has been on Barcelona’s radar for a couple of years. A move is unlikely to happen in 2026 due to the 23-year-old being happy at Mestalla, but that could change in the next 6-12 months.

If Raphinha ends up leaving for Saudi Arabia, Barcelona would be in need of a new winger. If that does come to fruition, Lee Kang-in would be a candidate, given that he was also discussed during the meeting between Deco and Garrido, who represents the Paris Saint-Germain attacker.
Lee has been strongly linked with Atletico Madrid in recent weeks, which comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding his future in Paris. He would be a top signing for Barcelona, although a move is unlikely to be made unless a significant departure happens.
